IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Koishi Komeiji
Age: Unknown. She's a Youkai so she could easily be hundreds of years old. However she doesn't really appear or act much older than fifteen.
Canon: Touhou Project
Canon Point: Post Hopeless Masquerade
Species: A Youkai, specifically, she's a Satori
Gender: Female
Orientation: N/A I want her to be in a child slot please
History: Here
Appearance: Official art 01 Official art 02
Personality:
Koishi started out as a "normal" youkai who could read people's minds. But after seeing her sister, Satori, become feared for her abilities and hated by both humans and youkai alike, Koishi sealed up her third eye so that she couldn't read anyone's mind. This kind of backfired on her because instead she was able to read the subconscious instead of the conscious. Because of this, Koishi stopped being noticed altogether. She couldn't be hated, like Satori, but she couldn't be loved either.
Because of Koishi's lonliness and connection to the subconsious minds of Youkai and Humans alike, she actually has a rather emotionless personality. She admits openly that she doesn't have any emotions to really display. However, instead of being your typical emotionless girl (like Rei Ayanami from Evangelion or Yuki Nagato from Suzumiya Haruhi) she takes on more of a stepford smiler persona. Koishi puts on a smile and seems cheerful most of the time, but just because she looks happy doesn't really mean anything. In reality, she doesn't feel anything.
Koishi is still a youkai, though. Like other youkai in the series, she enjoys fighting (which Koishi calls playing) and doesn't think much of inflicting harm on humans and she's the kind of youkai who would eat humans. This might make her sound really sadistic, but I wouldn't say this is particularly the case. It's better explained as a different type of culture where violence is more acceptable and humans are on the bottom of the food chain.
Koishi's also lived a very sheltered live, and at any oppertunity, will explore and get into mischief. This habit of hers gets her in trouble Hopeless Masquerade when she picks up Hata no Kokoro's mask of Hope. This gives her a single emotion, the emotion of hope. Both people and youkai alike begin to be inspired by her appearance and her happiness does become more sincere. Hope also has a bit of a vicious side, though. Because hope also means that you have hope in your own ability to pound the crap out of other people. Koishi does become a little more addicted to fighting and winning and the attention from other people does not help. In the end, she gets to keep this mask.
Just as a side note: In Holly Heights, without any of her powers or possessions, she would go back to her emotionless state before Hopeless Masquerade because she needs that mask in order to feel Hope. I also don't feel that her lack of powers would necessarily mean that she gains any locked away emotions.
Abilities: As mentioned above, Koishi has the ability to read the subconscious of your enemies. Her older sister, Satori, has the ability to read minds, the conscious thoughts. Basically this means that Satori can use your thoughts against you and throw out the perfect spell card to combat your card before you have time to attack. Koishi, on the other hand, knows what spell card you're about to use before you even think of it yourself. Which is pretty terrifying and it's no wonder that Koishi is thought of as stronger than her sister despite being younger.
Speaking of spell cards, characters in Touhou attack with danmaku. Since Touhou Project is, primarily, a bullet hell shooter series, the danmaku are the bullets on screen. Spell cards are cards that characters can use to execute stronger danmaku attacks. Pretty straightfoward, but worth explanation since Koishi has the ability to use danmaku and has her own set of spell cards.
Koishi is also a youkai which means that she doesn't age physically or mentally.
Other: Touhou characters don't have a whole lot of canon history or personality so please keep this in mind while judging this app. I really only have limited dialogue and word of god to go off of.
SAMPLES
First Person: dear mun post
Third Person:
Right now, Koishi is wandering through town. Having just arrived, she didn't bother much with her assigned house. She was much more interested in what's outside her front door. It's much more like the surface world, but even that was populated by youkai who lived with nature. On the other hand, humans lived on top of nature, and the effect was obvious. Roads, buildings... any mark of modern society is something that Koishi has never seen before. So obviously, some exploring is necessary!
You may find her outside your house, doing an assortment of strange things. If you have any fake animals in your front lawn, she's trying to talk to them. Koishi has also discovered that trash cans are mystical treasure chests so she very well may be looting through yours.
When she moves into the city proper she's spending her time trying to figure out how things work. What are these lights that are hanging up where the roads meet and what are they doing here? There's so many pretty things in these little houses, why do the people get mad when she takes things?
Since Koishi's been a youkai her whole life, she isn't quite used to the concept of stealing. Eventually, her thievery catches the attention of the local police force, and you may have a Koshi slamming headfirst into you.
